Information is organized in a logical way and illustrated well, having area maps handy helps. The book itself is full of fun facts and statistics and interesting to read.I see the book is being sold by author, so my five cents here: whenever something costs money (admission, rental fee etc) - would be great to see numbers, not only when something is free (though good to know too!). Numbers evidently can and will change with time but so will the other information, more or less, and a clue on a price tag is useful for Alaska.

I read several travel books about Alaska and this was my favorite. It had so much information about each part of Alaska and each major town. The beautiful photos added to the charm of the book. There was a section on animals and a section on cruising in Alaska that I found really interesting also. The information about the different native groups really gave me a feel for Alaska's history. It's a should-read for everyone preparing for a trip to Alaska!

Excellent guide.

This book has already proven great for planning a trip. There are many links, great descriptions and beautiful pictures. We are planning a semi-guided trip and need a lot of information to help with the planning. The real test will be how accurate all the references and descriptions are and we will not know until after our trip which is almost a year away. However, first impressions were excellent and many references I have already checked proved accurate.

Info is useful. Page flow is a bit goofy; could be it's not optimized for Amazon's new Kindle font.
