My favorite part of a compilation of similar shorts is being able to read an entire tale before bed and close the book till the next night. If that is your wish, don’t expect that to happen! Similar to the characters in each story, events do not necessarily unfold the way you expect. I couldn’t put the book down and read from beginning to end when I practically screamed that there wasn’t another story to feed my imagination. Chilling yet erotic in ways you will not expect - I find myself begging for more, even though I should be begging for forgiveness that I loved these stories so much. Twisted, tantalizing goodness wrapped up in demon delight.

Since this is an anthology, I’m going to focus on two of the six stories in this book.WITCH by Sinistre AngeEven now, I wonder. Would I do it all again? I got pulled into every story, immersed in the wickedness that swirled around me. And it wasn’t just the darkness that pulled me in. This may be a series of short stories, but both Ms. Greywood and Ms. Ange are geniuses. The creativity, world building, depth of character development are incredible. I’ve read full length novels that don’t have this kind of imagination and inventiveness. Every character, major and minor, is inextricably woven into each story. There’s nothing and no one in any of these stories that doesn’t make you shiver. The ending of each story blew my mind…every time! If you like the darker side of romance, you absolutely have to read this book. Raisa Greywood and Sinistre Ange are at the top of their game. I wish I could give it more than five stars. It’s AMAZING!A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, dark themes, and some nonconsensual sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. This book makes you realize your darkest fantasies, and then turns them into reality. The authors did a phenomenal job at writing these stories and made the characters both realistic, and down to earth. Who knew demons had even a sliver of good in them? If only it were real...

Not for the faint of heart. Fabulous representation of those deep dark fantasies that you wouldn't want to share with just anyone.

A delightfully dark and dirty view of demon kink, (and to be careful what you wish for!) Best to be read at night by the light of electric candles. :-) Would like to see more books in this vein by these authors.

This is an excellent collection of dark, short stories written by two very talented ladies who like to dabble in the dark. Or maybe a little more than dabble. All of these stories are great, some are a little disturbing. Some are a lot disturbing. It all depends on which way you look at them.Witch by Sinistre AngeThis is an excellent story about revenge and what revenge does to you as you seek your revenge. Lyana wants to get revenge so that she can get revenge on the people who destroyed her village, so she calls up the dread demon Leonard.Thought provoking story that really got into my head and made me consider some things.The Devil's Doorbell by Raisa GreywoodThis is a totally dystopian story about a theocracy in the US and what happens when a young woman allegedly sins.This one played a bit with my mind and made me worry about what could happen in the future and wonder if we could end up in a world like this.One Darned Frak by Sinistre AngeI think a lot of women have been in Angie's place once or twice in our lives. I don't think that we had a star to wish on though. This one is really the lightest story in the book, and it's a nice relief right in the middle, before you start to get to the ones that get to you.I really want to know which star Angie was looking at.We Invite You In by Sinistre AngeSlumber party games really shouldn't happen in a haunted house and you really shouldn't ever read from the mysterious book, because strange things happen when you do.This one caused my jaw to drop a couple of times while I read it, and if you read it, you will see why and when.The Monster Under the Bed by Sinistre AngeWhen I was a kid, I knew I was safe from the monster under my bed as long as I was all on the bed and under the covers. As I grew up, I grew out of thinking there were monsters under the bed. That didn't happen for Danielle. Not only did she not grow out of it, but she didn't just believe. She knew. Her parents committed her, and then she turned 18.I really felt all of Danielle's emotions and related to her a lot. I don't think that Danielle ever will get out of my head. I will always think about her.Breathless by Raisa GreywoodThe ladies saved this one for last. It's like the nightmare right before you wake up.Lucy is a surfer who has a very narrow escape from a great white. Then she meets Joral and everything changes.This is twisted and disturbing. It's that kind of disturbing that makes you want to read it because you don't know what's going to happen, but you are reading it through the spaces between your fingers as you cover your eyes. Such a good, good, good story.This is such a great set of stories, and it would be a shame to miss them.
